In 1966, Theodoros Vassilakis, with six Volkswagen automobiles, was granted a license to establish a Hertz Corporation branch on the island of Crete. The island of Rhodes followed two years after, and in 1974 AUTOHELLAS was granted the franchise of Hertz trade name in Greece. Presently, AUTOHELLAS (Hertz International Franchisee) is a 100% Greek company, with a strong presence in 9 European countries: Greece, Romania, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Serbia, Cyprus, Portugal, Montenegro and Croatia. The network has more than 160 stores, 50 of which are in the largest airports. Owned by AUTOHELLAS S.A., Autotechnica Serbia d.o.o. , hereinafter referred to as Hertz Serbia , operates in Serbia as a franchise company of Hertz International.
