A: All drivers must hold a valid driving license for at least 1 year.

 

For groups A,B,C and for credit card holders, the minimum age is 21 years of age. If you do not hold a credit card in your own name then you must be over 25 years of age to rent a Hertz vehicle.

For larger groups the minimum age is strictly 25 years old. 

A: Only drivers mentioned in the rental agreement are allowed to drive a Hertz vehicle. (see also “Do Hertz allow Additional Drivers?”)

A: Yes, you may add an additional driver onto your rental agreement.  This must be done at the time of rental.  The additional driver must present a valid driving licence at time of rent.  You can also add an additional driver onto your rental agreement during your rental.  To do this the driver and the additional driver can visit any Hertz Rental location.  The additional driver must present a valid driving licence and must comply with age restrictions. 

A: The daily cost is €5 per day plus VAT.

A: At the time of rental an authorisation is obtained on your credit card based on the estimated rental charges plus a guarantee fee. This deposit will vary according to the location, make and model of the vehicle. There must be sufficient credit on your credit card to cover all charges.
Where payment is by cash, a deposit based on the estimated cost of rental including additional charges (insurances, surcharges, special equipment etc.) plus the amount of the non waivable excess for the vehicle rented will be applied to the rental - subject to a minimum amount, variable by location.

A: No. Towing is a violation of the rental agreement and is not permitted under any circumstances.

A: When you change the return location a higher rate may apply. Please contact your local Hertz Reservations Office for details.

A: Hertz vehicles, including 4-wheel drives, are to be operated only on regularly maintained roads. Off-road use is in violation of the rental agreement.

A: No, you are not allowed to remove any of the seats of the car.

A: There is a 29 minute grace period. After the grace period has expired a full day’s charge will apply.

A: If you should have the misfortune to suffer a breakdown, you should immediately contact ELPA road assistance on 10400 (available 24/7). You must also contact your Hertz rental office.

A: You should contact the police immediately, and then contact the renting location and advise them on the situation.

A: You will need a written approval and the issue of a green card from us. 

A: No, there are exceptions for damages which are not covered by any insurance. Such cases are single damages to the lower part of the vehicle, wheels and tires. Also not covered are damages due to driving on an improper road surface, towing another vehicle, transfer of explosives, rallying, etc.
